Thrifting Finds

I went to the thrift store with my sister on Sunday. It's been awhile since I went thrifting and I enjoyed the trip immensely. I ended up scooping up some really neat stuff for just over $20.

  • A very 80s inspired Trafalgar shoulder bag. It holds a lot more than I thought it would, which is always a good thing. I wasn't sure originally if it was actually from the 80s or not, but a tab on it that shows a website link proves it's just got that style.

  • Three Star Trek: TNG novels. I had not read any of the Star Trek novels, but a friend of mine online is a huge fan and highly recommended them to me. I managed to find these three. I've already read through A Rock and a Hard Place and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm tackling The Devil's Heart next and I'll save the Generations novelization until I get a chance to see the film itself first.

  • A LED book light. I've always wanted one of those clip on book lights, so when I found one at the thrift store, brand new in the box, I couldn't pass it up. I just have to get some batteries for it.

  • A rainbow mug from the 80s. I saw the rainbow on the mug at first and was drawn to it. The quote across said rainbow is Success by Barbara Smallwood and Steve Kilborn. I thought it was a nice inspirational message.

  • A Romeo and Juliet t-shirt. This shirt is originally from Out of Print, which is a really cool site with book-themed apparel and other items. I'm a Shakespeare fan, and while Romeo and Juliet isn't my favourite of his plays, I still really liked the look of this shirt.

  • Two pairs of geometric enamel earrings. The teal triangles and the flat red cubes on the shirt are both pairs of earrings. I liked the look of them and they were very inexpensive, so I picked them up.

  • Rink Ratz: The Hockey Card Game. This is a card game by a Canadian based company. I checked the game out on Board Game Geek and it seemed to have decent ratings. It was also really inexpensive and for the price I paid, I'm willing to take a risk of me potentially not liking it.

I've read a lot of the Trek novels, they're a very mixed bag; some of them are terrible but some of them are absolute gems.
